Wayne Snell

Wayne Snell is a seasoned municipal leader who serves as the Director of Inspections for the City of Irving, Texas. He oversees building inspections, plan review, and health code enforcement, while championing efficiency, collaboration, and public trust in local government.

His journey began in the trades as a licensed electrician, where he developed the hands-on perspective that continues to shape his leadership approach. With over two decades of experience in city operations, Wayne focuses on building strong teams, improving systems, and keeping community impact at the center of his work.

Outside of city government, Wayne is a devoted husband and proud father of three daughters. He starts every day with love, encouragement, and the occasional dad joke. He also leads Inside the Built Environment, a growing platform dedicated to elevating the stories and significance of building safety professionals.
